We used to offer a trial, but we found that buyers aren’t prepared for the reality of ‘trying out’ a system that could eventually run most of their key business operations. In reality an effective trial meant having real company data, and a decent understanding of the key processes needing tested, and time to learn enough about flowlens to determine the value. Something most people haven’t got at their fingertips. 

Trialling a MRP and MES system that touches sales, purchasing, finance, production, quality, warehouse and production means coordinating across teams (even if that team is one person) to get buy-in even for the idea of looking at replacing current systems (and let’s face it, by systems we usually mean our precious spreadsheets!)

And even when our case studies are compelling, demonstrating significant savings and improvements for a SME that handles complex builds, that’s a lot to juggle within the typical 14 day trial period. Reality kicks in and the trial slides down the priority list.

It was frustrating for buyers, and for us too, when follow-ups go unanswered.

So we’ve decided to bin free trials. Instead we create a dedicated demonstration environment, ideally using your product data if you have it handy. We then spend the time working through the business process fit with you, before diving into the needs of each function and workshop with your team.

Realistically this could take 2-4 weeks, fitting around your commitments and weekly pressures, but we get to a stage where you and your team can confirm Flowlens fits, you understand the value it will bring, and we both agree a realistic implementation plan.

Flowlens isn’t a ‘one size fits any manufacturer’ solution, so we qualify carefully to make sure that we can genuinely help your business (and not waste anyone’s team). And everything we learn during this intensive demoing process gives us a head start if you progress to the implementation stage.

Others pretend MRP implementation is easy – in some cases it can be. But we are used to the needs of complex-build equipment and machinery manufacturers (startups and growing SMEs).
