We’re delighted to announce that the award winning Environmental Street Furniture Ltd has selected Flowlens CRM.

Environmental Street Furniture has successful partnerships with many high profile clients across a range of sectors, including the renewable energy, construction and visitor attraction sectors, all of whom require quotations to submit with their bids.

Environmental Street Furniture often issues multiple quotations to bidders for such projects, however most CRMs are too rigid, and couldn’t handle this. The firm had resorted to emails, spreadsheets and manual documents to track follow-ups and activity. The fast-growing business was frustrated by this manual approach and sought a solution that could support its growth and handle the project-based quotations.

Flowlens was able to demonstrate to the team at Environmental Street Furniture how multiple quotations can be tracked against projects, which typically attract many bidders.  This solved the problem of staying on top of quotation follow-ups and enables a clearer understanding of success rates.

Managing Director of Environmental Street Furniture, Alan Lowry said, “We are delighted with our new customer relationship management (CRM) system. Flowlens, with a local office and support network, ensured that their configured solution fitted our business needs, allowing us to track by project rather than by customer. With our business operating across 25 countries and having tried many other popular CRM systems, Flowlens not only met our needs but delivered on the flexibility that was required.”

Flowlens was able to demonstrate effective management of the unique Project/Contractor/Quotation requirement, alongside its user friendly interface, mobile sales activity management and simple quotation builder tool. For Management, Flowlens provided information quickly and in realtime through dashboard and instant reports. Furthermore, as a modular ERP and CRM solution, Flowlens offers Environmental Street Furniture a pathway to adopt other business management features such as Order Processing, Sage 50 integration and After-sales Service management.

Flowlens also offers an affordable subscription pricing option, with a range of training and configuration services to support Environmental Street Furniture in getting up and running quickly.

Flowlens CEO, Rich Dale said “Environmental Street Furniture is a fast-growing company, operating globally, with a need to track multiple quotations against a project. Flowlens was able to demonstrate support for this need, alongside mobile working, user friendly tools, and accessible pricing.”

I’m delighted to have been invited to take part in the CBI’s upcoming ‘Future of UK Manufacturing’ conference on May 5th.

The UK Manufacturing sector is facing a range of opportunities and threats, and many are turning to modern technology to address both.

The conference will focus on the practical use of digital technologies to improve processes, increase efficiency, and enhance the competitiveness of UK Manufacturers. I’m taking part in a panel discussion regarding Manufacturing Technology Trends.

These include:

  • Reducing reliance on spreadsheets, paper, and manual processes.
  • Introducing and implementing lean thinking.
  • Joining-up information flow between departments.
  • Customer self-service.
  • Streamlining the product offering.
  • Serving customers throughout the lifetime of the product.

Technology is not the answer to all of these challenges, however it can be an enabler. I’m looking forward to sharing how we’ve helped our customers reduce waste, grow without hiring more administrative staff, and join up their core business processes.

To learn more about the conference visit the CBI website or book your place via eventbrite.

We are delighted to announce a contract to supply David Harrison Handling Solutions with our joined-up sales (CRM) and operations (MRP & ERP) modules. David Harrison design and manufacture a range of agricultural, industrial and environmental materials handling equipment from their site in Aldreth, Ely.

David Harrison’s expertise, innovation and experience has enabled them to provide cost effective and efficient solutions for their customers. However, their current mixture of Quickbooks, spreadsheets and manual processes have become inefficient to support their future commercial and customer service objectives.

So how will Flowlens software help David Harrison?

  • A single source of data i.e. customers, suppliers, parts. This provides the foundation for joined-up management information, removing data silos, inaccurate data and manual reporting.
  • User-friendly dashboards that show a real-time view of performance and analytics.
  • Intelligent and alert-based workflows will manage the flow of information to the relevant employees at the right time at every stage of the process.
  • Integration with Quickbooks again enabling joined up management information.

These are just a handful of ways in which our joined up CRM and ERP platform will provide value to David Harrisons. In fact current customers have already achieved a substantial return on investment such as, a 40% reduction in manufacturing admin time, a 20% reduction in sales admin time, and a 15% increase in spare parts orders.

Opening a new office in Manchester gets 2015 off to a good start

East Belfast based firm Flowlens is opening a new UK office in Manchester, to meet demand for its tailored business process improvement software.

To set up the office new recruit, Trond Henriksen, joins in January 2015 from Swedish firm, eSoft. In addition to Scandinavian markets he also has experience of the UK sector from his role at SCC.

It’s expected that Henriksen’s experience in sales pipeline management and sales effectiveness will attract more of the manufacturing and engineering companies Flowlens has built its solid track record in creating tailored software on.

2014 ended on a high for Flowlens with the confirmation of four new software projects for Northern Ireland companies, including Lowe Refrigeration, Unicorn Containers, R&S Biomass and McColgans Quality Foods.

CEO Rich Dale said “We’re delighted to welcome Trond to the team and look forward to utilising his experience in developing senior level IT solutions. We’re looking forward to an exciting and busy 2015.”

Flowlens also produces tailored business process software for Survitec GroupCDE Global and Kiverco Recycling Plant

Digital DNA is a unique, all-round business technology event, and Flowlens will be hosting a special session showcasing best practice in streamlining business processes, on Thursday 6th November at the Titanic building in Belfast.

Digital DNA is designed to showcase the very best digital technology practices, solutions and expertise from across the region and around the globe, providing local businesses with an opportunity to sharpen their competitive and commercial edge through technology.

About the Session

Spreadsheets are the glue that hold most businesses together, but they soon come unstuck, as versions multiply and human error creeps in. Add to this: manual processes, and clunky software systems, and you have a sticky mess that holds business back and eats profits!

Delegates will hear real world examples from successful NI-based companies who’ve overcome these problems, and are operating globally.

Paul Clegg, Global IT Manager for Survitec Group will talk about the challenge of creating a system to manage a worldwide fleet of life-rafts and 600-strong service network, whilst ensuring compliance with strict marine safety laws. The company moved from an array of disparate systems, spreadsheets and processes to a single platform that unites operations across the group.

Damian Owens, Project Manager, and Andrew Gibson, Systems Engineer, from Kiverco, leaders in recycling and waste management plant, will describe the process of transitioning from spreadsheet-based sales, purchasing, planning and production, to a joined-up platform that is unlocking growth potential for the business.

Delegates can take away insights and actions that can directly reduce waste, and streamline processes in their own business.
